The LNJ Experience
Lead New Jersey offers a three-pronged value to its Fellows: education in New Jersey issues, Leadership Advancement, and the LNJ Network.
For newcomers to New Jersey, it is considered to be the best "crash course" one can experience on the issues New Jersey is facing and the people working around the state to address them. For long-time and even lifelong residents of New Jersey, LNJ provides new and expanded experiences, information, perspective, and destinations. Fellows report to LNJ that their participation in the program heightened their awareness of the breadth and depth of the issues confronting New Jersey, inspiring them to take action within their communities.
The most common remark we hear from Fellows about LNJ is "I should have done it sooner." The commitment to participating as an LNJ Fellow can be daunting, but reaps rewards that can only be described as priceless.
There are not enough words to capture the feelings and emotions I’ve experience throughout the year via LNJ's seminars, panels, exercises, and events. As a transplant from South Carolina, I’ve only experienced certain parts of the state and never ventured into the troubled areas, which truly opened my eyes as I never knew the struggles so many people face within the state. LNJ beat all of my expectations and was a life-changing experience.
